Hi. My name is Stephanie. I am an Aspie, but I didn't know that until just about a year ago. I grew up undiagnosed and was considered odd or strange by my family.
I went through a series of substantial life changing events that ultimately led me to move, by myself. more than 1,000 miles from where I grew up (and everyone I knew).
However, I know that this was under God's direction. It was here that I met my husband, found my wonderful church and drew closer to God than I ever thought possible.
I created this site because after searching the internet for months I could never find a forum that was specifically for Christian Aspies. It has been a journey, but I hope to connect with other Christian Aspies and let them know that we have a safe home here.
What's your story?

Howdy.
I'm Jason from London. I am going through the process of a diagnosis with so far pointing to wards being a Aspie.
I grew up believing in God but not really religious until the age of about 12 when wanted to know what the Bible was about and how to lead a good spiritual life following the teachings of the prophets and Jesus. I follow old testament laws like not eating pork and having sabbath on a Saturday and the lovely teachings of the new testament.
Right now unemployed but hopefully will attend university next year and maybe in the future move to Israel,

Hi! Good to meet you! I received my diagnosis almost a year ago. I pretty much knew before that, but the diagnosis was confirmation. It wasn't easy getting it, though. It is so much more difficult for adults!
Are you Jewish? Just curious. Your practices indicate you may be. I know several of the Jewish faith. One of them is a dual resident - Israel and US. He says that he loves Israel and wants to move there on a permanent basis.
I am not Jewish, but I was invited to Shabbat with him once. We were guests of this lovely woman who was a Holocaust survivor. Wonderful, sweet lady with a tragic story. The entire experience was beautiful, though, and something I won't forget.

hello, Stephanie and Jason, I'm David
I don't want to start my own thread so hello's to all
I was raised christian, before mingling with atheism in my late 20's, then becoming a strong theist with a dedication to Judaism and a defender of faiths who affirm God and Judaism-inspired ethics, but I still affirm my christian roots, and have close ties to my evangelical family, as well as to my extended family which is largely Mormon or Methodist.

Hi David, very nice to meet you! It is perfectly fine that you don't want to start your own thread. In fact, if you want a thread started but don't want to be the first, just message me or let me know and I will start it.
It sounds like you have a very diverse background, very rich.

Hello David and Stephanie No I am not Jewish however I do Jewish practices since Jesus was Jewish and I believe we should follow the practices of the Bible. I hope that makes sense lol. For example I wouldn't celebrate Christmas or easter but would celebrate passover.

That is very interesting. I also believe in following what the Bible teaches. If you are biblical in our lives we can't go wrong, right? :-)

Hi everyone, it is good to meet you. I looks like there is a good mix of people with diverse backgrounds here. This should be a neat forum. My name is Rachel, and I am not sure if I have Aspergers or not, but I have some Aspie traits (obsessive interests and daydreaming, difficulty connecting with people) that have a big impact on my life, so I would like to learn about how people with Aspergers deal with those issues. I have been in a Christian home all of my life, and I gave my life to Christ as a child, but I really came to understand the hope of the Gospel and trust completely in Christ when I was 12. I have struggled with many doubts about God and whether what I believe is true, but I have always come back to believing this because I can't find anything else that I could bring myself believe in, that would give purpose to my life. For the past several months I have had a particularly hard time connecting with God and focusing on Him, in part because of the aforementioned Aspie traits. That is the main why I came here to meet some Christian Aspies. My dream is to work as a missionary Bible translator, probably in Asia, because I have always wanted to share the Gospel with other people and, besides my passion for God, my biggest passions are linguistics and world cultures.

Hi Rachel, it is so nice to have you here! I was not diagnosed until I was 43 and even then, it is very difficult for an adult to get an Asperger diagnosis. I think you will fit in quite well here! My Aspie traits sometimes get in the way of certain things like praying. I have to use my headphones with my own playlist. I only have Christian music on my MP3 player and I have different playlists for different things. Sometimes the Aspie logic has creeped in and made me question different things, but when I read the Bible and pray for clarity and wisdom, things just fall into place and I understand. It is great to have you on here. I hope you will start some posts (sounds like you have some great things to discuss) and join in some discussions! Welcome!

Hello, I'm Johann. I'm currently between 19 and 20 years of age, and I was diagnosed at the age of 4, so I've pretty much grown up an aspie. My mother is from Brazil and I was raised a Catholic. I became an Atheist at the age of 7 following my discovery that Christians have commited many atrocities over the years in the name of God. I returned to my faith, more or less, as it was a gradual process, at the age of 16-17, though I still have problems reconciling my rediscovered beliefs with my naturally sceptical attitudes, and all in all, I'm a very unorthodox Catholic. I tend to say I worship the Deistic ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deism) God to a greater extent than that of the Bible, especially the Old Testament.
