Where are you, people? I want to talk with other Christian Aspies. Somebody is reading these posts. Why is nobody adding to them?

We're out here. What would you like to talk about?

Whatever is important. Questions, topics, issues, etc. I've been here for awhile and very few responses.

What places can you go to meet other Aspies? YouTube.com has some interesting stuff about Aspies by Aspies, but I want more than that. I would like to see if there are support groups where I can talk about my issues and get some answers on how to get along with NT's on this planet where it seems like I'm only visiting.

Where is everyone?...I can only say where I'm at...and sometimes it's not in reality...that's the number one problem I have and that is staying in the reality of this "planet"...need I say more?...when some people don't understand who I am with an AS mind, I find "comfort" in my world where they can't come...but explaining my world to them, doesn't make sense to them.

There are others. Google "Christian, Asperger's, forum." Many will come up: few will be worthwhile. (Many are called, but few are chosen?) But stay here and help build this site. And welcome! I started an adult Asperger's support group here in Missoula about 8 mos. ago. We have grown to about 12 regulars and a few drop-ins. A speech therapist is our facilitator/moderator. We have great times, friendly, fun, serious, deep, relevant and meaningful and helpful discussions. Did I leave anything out? We get one another. If there isn't one where you live, start one. It's pretty easy.

I have been unable to get on the net for about 4 days. Suddenly I can. Anyway, post away! Someone will respond. What do you want to discuss?

Why can't "NT" Christians understand me?...If we are of one body in Christ, why is there so much misunderstanding?...I didn't ask God to create me as an "Apsie"...He just did...I tried to be part of the fellowship, but I don't know how to "act"(?)...I sometimes think I'm doing alright with being "social" and then I get feedback that someone didn't like something I said...and when I tried to think about what was said, it wasn't taken as I said it...it somehow got twisted(?)...

My best experiences along those lines has been at charismatic churches like Vineyard and many Assemblies of God [churches]. It seems like the Holy Spirit teaches those who believe in the Gifts/are baptized in the Spirit to think outside of the box and they are more receptive when we do [as it is our native tongue]. That doesn't mean that everything we say is correct, but it makes them not so quick to throw it all out, anyway. And when I have been corrected, it has been in a way that I can hear. It is usually quite gentle, much like turning on a light switch...

Yeah, I agree a lot depends on if the church is filled with the Holy Spirit where members are more receptive to mistakes made by anyone, NT AS or otherwise. We feel we are all sinners saved by grace and are called to provide grace to others. A large part of our mission is to seek lost souls and bring them to our Savior. On the other hand, I look at socializing with NT's like going to another country where we would learn the language and customs. Their words don't always mean what they say. They act kind of funny sometimes. I don't personally think I need to tell people I am autistic, but if you're struggling that much it might help the other person understand better.

Nt Christians are as imperfect as we AS Christians. I certainly don't understand them anymore than they understand me. I have felt like the most misunderstood person in history. Now I know why. So I am more careful about who I present my pearls to. NT is just another name for "normal." Who here wants to be normal? I now just enjoy the AS characteristics God has endowed me with, and manage the difficulties as best I can with His grace.
