When I was a teenager, I would sneak over to a Pentecostal church sometimes on Sunday evenings. (It was a really scarry place. There were old ladies screaming "Jesus, Jesus, Jesus" at every meeting.)
One of my favorite songs from that time was "This World is not My Home". I have copied the first stanza and the chorus below. If you look carefully at the chorus I just realized less than six months ago it is "I have no friend LIKE you". As a teenager feeling like a "stranger and alien" in this world I always mis-sang "I have no friend BUT you". In other words, Jesus was (and in some ways still is) my only true friend.
======================================== This world is not my home I'm just passing through my treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue the angels beckon me from Heaven's open door and I can't feel at home in this world anymore (Chorus) O Lord you know I have no friend like you if Heaven's not my home then Lord what will I do? the angels beckon me from Heaven's open door and I can't feel at home in this world anymore

Similar to Building 429: Sometimes it feels like I'm watching from the outside Sometimes it feels like I'm breathing but am I alive I won't keep searching for answers that aren't here to find All I know is I'm not home yet This is not where I belong Take this world and give me Jesus This is not where I belong www.youtube.com/watch?v=he32vwlKQPY

Thanks, JesusFreak2012 for posting the Building 429 song...I heard the song a few weeks ago on 95.5 the Fish...and it expressed what I was "feeling" that day...I was frustrated cause I'm misunderstood and I "feel" like an outsider most of the time...I don't "feel" at home here and I'm always asking God, Why do I have to be here?...I don't "fit" in...
