I personally came hear to escape the bigotry of the excessive atheists who seem to think themselves gods who know everything and brag about being proficient debaters when all they do is cheap insults and generalizations with nothing to back it up. The scripture says don't cast your pearls before swine and this just reminds me of its truth.
Matthew 7:6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

I agree. That is why most of us are here, I believe. I know it is true for me.
I also found that I did not really fit in many of the NT Christian forums. I am a little too straightforward and honest for their comfort. They often don't understand my logic either. And the emoting wears me out.
Glad you are here! I so agree with the scripture you quoted! I have often felt the same way.

Honestly everyone their was straight forward. Its just the majority has this hate against Christians claiming they oppressed them yet from what I can tell they are just acting like most NT's. I can't understand how they can stick their noses in the air and scream fools, I'm smarter than you while accusing anyone religious of being intolerant. They are to proud to see their own double standards and anti-Semitic views.
Arguing with an Atheist is like yelling at the wall. You get a twisted poorer quality argument you yelled at it right back.

There is danger in arguing with people like that - and they aren't all proclaimed atheists. Their goals are all the same though because they want to call your faith into question and separate you from God. They want to damage your relationship with God and keep others from seeking the truth from you.
I think of 2 Timothy 2:10-19
10 So I am willing to endure anything if it will bring salvation and eternal glory in Christ Jesus to those God has chosen.
11 This is a trustworthy saying:
If we die with him, we will also live with him. 12 If we endure hardship, we will reign with him. If we deny him, he will deny us. 13 If we are unfaithful, he remains faithful, for he cannot deny who he is.
14 Remind everyone about these things, and command them in God’s presence to stop fighting over words. Such arguments are useless, and they can ruin those who hear them.
An Approved Worker
15 Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth. 16 Avoid worthless, foolish talk that only leads to more godless behavior. 17 This kind of talk spreads like cancer, as in the case of Hymenaeus and Philetus. 18 They have left the path of truth, claiming that the resurrection of the dead has already occurred; in this way, they have turned some people away from the faith. 19 But God’s truth stands firm like a foundation stone with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and “All who belong to the Lord must turn away from evil.”
Verse 14 is particularly relevant to this conversation. Those arguments are useless. Those people are there to stir up trouble, not to have intelligent discussion. Anyone who starts that kind of nonsense here will be dealt with quickly. This is a safe place.

It seems like there are people here that resent Atheism in itself. Personally, I don't. These are usually just people that require evidence to sustain their faith, and honestly, it's hard to provide logical support for the Faith in Christ.
However, like everyone else, I dislike respectless behaviour, and unfortunately, many Atheists on the internet indulge in that. So here I am. Besides, I'm interested in seeing what kind of faith aspies nourish.

I admit, there was a time when my faith faltered because I believed that I had not substantial basis for believing.
But the powerful way that God is so real in my life now leaves no room for doubt. As my relationship with Him deepened, He became more and more real to me.
As for athiests, I am not convinced that many of them are truly athiests, but not just against Christ. There is plenty of proof if a person is willing to open their mind and their heart to receive it.

There is plenty of proof if a person is willing to open their mind and their heart to receive it. Openmindedness is indeed a virtue. But one cannot just evangelise as one sees fit nowadays, and not expect protest. From what I can gather, many Atheists feel that Christianity and other faiths have been "pushed" upon them, and that their right to believe what they want has been undermined. This is a serious issue, as this closes minds and hearts to the message of Christ, and I fear that we can thank untactfull evangelisation for that. I do belleve that unbelievers get the full opportunity to convert after death, though, so I do not worry overly for them.

The atheists' attitudes are more generalized. Their arrogance is seen in their smug, superior attitudes about so-called science, liberal and political issues, etc. They ask how an Aspie can be conservative in one post, how can one believe in God in another, they expect unanimity from Aspies in any opinion toward homosexuality, etc. So why do they bother asking? So they can rant at us about our closed minds. But I have noticed that those who profess open-mindedness are open to anything but truth. If they found truth they would then become responsible to it and have to close their minds to other views. They love the approval of men rather than the truth and approval of God. Their stock and trade is in the same sort of stereotyping they accuse (most often erroneously) us Christians of. I engage in discussion with them until they get insulting, then I break with them.

Atheists think they no everything but are very misguided. They have similar goals as we do how ever. They are the Devils pawns with out knowing it. To not believe in God is one thing. But to not believe in Lucifer is more dangerous. He controles them uses them to cause problems for us. I came here to chat with other christians/theists of any kind. I have jewish muslim and christian friends. We all came from God and are descendants from Abrahaman.
