I am excited to find this forum!! My Faith is the cornerstone of my life, and I didn't want to join an Aspie forum that wasn't Christian, so I am super excited to find y'all!!
I am not officially diagnosed, and, in fact, had never heard of Aspergers until approx 2 years ago. (I am currently 45 yo) I always knew I was "odd" (though I prefer eccentric). My mother and father did not allow mental illness in their household, so I grew up thinking that I was not as acceptable as I should have been.
My sister led me to Christ when I was 5 years old, though with my father being an atheist, I didn't really understand alot about Jesus and God until I was married.
In addition to being an Aspie, I also have several chronic illnesses such as Fibromyalgia, Rheumatoid Arthritis, IBS, depression and Chemical sensitivities, and depression. (As I write, I realize that sounds depressing, but God has His plan for me!!)
I look forward to talking with all of you and being able to share Faith and quirkiness!
Lord Bless!

Glad you're here. I was Dxed about 1 1/2 yrs ago. After 35 yrs of therapy trying to figure out and get over whatever was wrong with me, my wife read an article about Asperger's in one of her women's magazines. I pursued an evaluation and now have an official Dx. 2 1/2 really.
I don't get on to this website everyday. The others seem not to, either. Don't get discouraged. Keep visiting. This website is growing. Help it grow.
Re IBS: try a gluten free diet. It is not uncommon for Aspies to have Celiac Disease as well. IBS is just a special form of it.
